It has been brought to our attention that several of you have noticed vehicles near the garage in the Worship Center parking lot, in the evenings. You might remember the Pokemon Go phenomenon hitting a few months back, through which there were several stops on our property. Initially, we thought this was what was happening, as we are aware there is currently a Pokestop near the garage. Pokemon Go is entirely harmless, and is simply a game people are playing using their phones or other mobile devices.
Last night, a parent of the Ark of Learning witnessed some sort of transaction taking place in the Learning Center parking lot, giving us a bit more cause for concern. Please be advised that we have contacted the Union Township Police Department, and they will be patrolling our area a bit more heavily in the next few days.
Obviously, we want people to feel safe when they visit our campus, and wanted to alert you to the potential of increased police patrol, as well as, encourage you to be extra vigilant, especially in the evenings and after dark. If you see something that looks to be suspicious, whether a vehicle, or a person, we ask that you do not approach the vehicle or individual, but rather contact the Union Township Police Department at 513.752.1230. If you are alone, please remain in a secure location (either in your vehicle with the doors locked, or in a building), until police arrive.
It greatly saddens me to send this email, but it would be worse if one of our Ark families or church family members put themselves in harm's way. Please keep your eyes open, and stay safe!
